We offer a truly different approach to school. Supported by the latest in technology and cognitive science, we move beyond the traditional tools of lectures, homework, high-stakes tests, and grades. At Acton Academy Lincoln, students K-8 learn in collaborative classrooms of multi-age learners. Our flexible approach challenges each student with their differentiated learning plan and inspires them through real-world projects. After-all, childhood should be about the discovery of self. We are a place where kids are free to be kids while learning how to be kind, passionate, and powerful individuals capable of changing the world. By utilizing the latest technology and educational methods, we help empower Lions to be their greatest selves every day.

We believe a like-minded tribe aligned around a common purpose is powerful. Learning happens all the time, and staff, parents, and children each have a powerful part to play. All parts of our learning community are engaged for support, to share perspective, and bring value.

Whether it's launching a startup business, creating a tidepool habitat, playing an instrument, painting a mosaic, or programming a robot, Acton students are building real-life skills in the classroom every day. We believe the learning experience is much richer when the teacher ("Guide") offers insightful questions and facilitates hands-on learning. Guides use the Socratic method, always responding to students' questions with new questions. This exchange hones students' critical thinking skills. No boring sit in your desk teacher-led lecture-style learning at Acton!

Montessori Studio: An important time for learning is the period between birth and six years of age. Children are eager to learn from new people and experiences. They absorb all the environment has to offer and it is our responsibility to ensure the world they experience is rich, safe, nurturing, and intelligent. The foundation of self-esteem and all future learning is constructed during these early years. Our Montessori based Spark program encourages children to step toward independence in an environment specially created for the developing young learner. This happy and intelligent setting offers your child an opportunity to develop strong social skills as well as explore language, music, practical life skills, art math, geography, science, culture, and large motor activities. In our Montessori - Spark Studio, your child will be introduced to many different concepts and will learn through observing and through direct interaction with our beautifully crafted materials. www.actonacademylincoln.com/spark

Elementary Studio: The Discovery Studio offers a safe, caring, and warm environment where young children thrive. The studio is arranged by learning areas: building and design, computers, manipulatives, core skills, library, and writing. The daily schedule and routines include a balance of indoor and outdoor activity time, plenty of time to play, which by the way, we feel is SUPER important to a child's development. Children are encouraged to think, reason, question, develop ideas, experiment, and problem solve, as well as make choices and display independence. Kindness and developing good character is a cornerstone in all we do. Navigating the challenges of friendship or learning to identify and express emotions, at Acton Lincoln, the intellectual, social, and emotional life of each child is honored. www.actonacademylincoln.com/adventurestudio.html

Middle School Studio: Welcome to the Adventure Studio - where the learning environment is nurturing, and we provide a variety of academic offerings, technology, entrepreneurship, physical education, music, art, community service, and leadership opportunities. We believe middle school is a time to build character, seek independence, and gain an understanding of self and others.

As an independent school, we place great value on preparing our students not only for High School (coming soon!) but also for a world beyond school. We believe in the education of the whole person - inside and outside of the studio - and encourage students to develop intellectually as well as into citizens of good character.

Quests help students learn about potential careers they might be interested in as well as develop lasting skills such as the ability to work as a team, develop creative solutions, and to set and crush goals.
