Finding Your Resources

By Jace Noble

We know that COVID-19 has affected many families in different ways, which is why we want to shine a light on a program available to assist families in need in our community.

The Lincoln Community Baby Closet offers outreach programs that provide free clothing, newborn baby care items, diapers, and formula under three different programs: The Lincoln Community Baby Closet, Newborn Needs Request, and the Diaper and Formula Pantry.

The Lincoln Community Baby Closet is a program that began with new mothers in

mind. It is a free public store that offers clothing and other items for children ranging in age
from 3 months to 24 months, and it is open four days monthly at 2311 North Cotner Blvd, Suite H.

  • First Monday, 5:00-7:00 PM
  • Second Saturday, 9:30-11:00 AM
  • Third Wednesday, 9:00-10:30 AM
  • Fourth Sunday, 1:30-3:00 PM

The Newborn Needs Request service is reserved for infants ranging from birth to 3 months, new mothers nearing their due date, and caregivers of newborns. Items you can receive range from clothing and baby care products to diapers and wet wipes. To benefit from the Newborn Needs Request, watch for them to post open requests on Facebook, or submit a request through their Facebook Messenger. Typically, someone will respond within 24 hours.

Another resource for new mothers and infants is the Diaper and Formula Pantry. It operates outside of the public hours of Lincoln Community Baby Closet and items are available for porch pick-up seven days a week. Follow the same format as with Newborn Needs Request through Facebook Messenger.
